About Us
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Modern Orthotic Designs (MOD) provides custom orthotic assessment, prescription and fitting for children and adults throughout Perth and regional Western Australia. In addition to the Perth clinic, MOD provides regular outreach clinics in Vasse, Bunbury and Albany, improving access to specialist orthotic care across the South West.
No two clients are the same, and neither are their orthoses. At Modern Orthotic Designs, every prescription is guided by the individual's goals. Whether that's returning to work, improving walking efficiency, increasing comfort, participating in sport or maintaining independence, each orthosis is individually prescribed to help achieve meaningful functional outcomes.
Led by Cameron Davis, Managing Director and Principal Orthotist, MOD provides evidence-based orthotic management for people of all ages. The clinic regularly assists clients living with neurological, musculoskeletal and congenital conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), stroke, muscular dystrophy and many other conditions affecting mobility.
Services include custom foot orthoses, ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs), knee-ankle-foot orthoses (KAFOs), pectus braces, paediatric orthotics and complex neurological orthotic management. MOD is committed to remaining at the forefront of orthotic technology and works closely with clients, their families and referring health professionals to ensure every prescription is tailored to each individual's needs and goals.

Cameron graduated from La Trobe University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics. Following graduation, he worked at OPSA in Adelaide before moving to Caulfield Hospital in Melbourne, gaining experience across a broad range of orthotic services.
Cameron is the Managing Director and Principal Orthotist at Modern Orthotic Designs in Perth, Western Australia. Over the past decade he has developed a particular interest in neurological orthotics, paediatric orthotic management, stance control KAFOs, pectus bracing and complex lower limb orthoses.
He has extensive experience prescribing advanced orthotic technology, including the Ottobock C-Brace and Exopulse Mollii Suit, and enjoys working closely with clients, their families and other health professionals to develop practical orthotic solutions that help people achieve their goals.

Ottobock Exopulse Mollii Suit v9.5
The Ottobock Exopulse Mollii Suit v9.5 is now available for assessment and trial at our Perth clinic with our certified orthotists.
Following an initial assessment, we will determine whether the Exopulse Mollii Suit is an appropriate treatment option for your individual needs. Suitable clients can then undertake a one-hour in-clinic trial to assess their response to the device.
Where clinically appropriate, a successful in-clinic trial may be followed by a 4 or 8-week home trial, allowing further evaluation in everyday environments before considering a definitive purchase. The Exopulse Mollii Suit may be funded privately or through available funding bodies, including the NDIS.
The Exopulse Mollii Suit uses reciprocal inhibition to help reduce spasticity while encouraging activation of weaker muscles. By stimulating the antagonist of the spastic muscle, the device aims to promote a more balanced pattern of muscle activity, helping to reduce muscle overactivity.
For some users, this may lead to improvements in comfort, mobility, proprioception and functional ability. Individual results vary, and the suitability of the device is determined through clinical assessment and trial.

Assessment at Modern Orthotic Designs
Modern Orthotic Designs has extensive experience assessing and prescribing stance control KAFOs, including the Ottobock C-Brace, for clients with complex neurological and lower limb conditions. Every C-Brace assessment begins with a comprehensive clinical evaluation to determine whether the technology is appropriate for the individual's presentation, functional goals and lifestyle.
Where clinically appropriate, clients undertake a structured trial to evaluate the benefits of the C-Brace before a definitive prescription is considered. Throughout the process, we work closely with the client, their family, treating health professionals and Ottobock to ensure the orthosis is optimised to achieve the best possible functional outcome.

The Ottobock C-Brace is a technologically advanced, microprocessor-controlled knee joint designed for use in stance control knee-ankle-foot orthoses (KAFOs). Using a combination of sensors and intelligent microprocessor technology, the C-Brace continuously monitors movement throughout the gait cycle and automatically adjusts knee resistance in real time. This allows the orthosis to respond to changes in walking speed, terrain and direction while promoting a more natural, controlled walking pattern.
Unlike traditional stance control orthoses, the C-Brace provides continuous control of the knee throughout the entire gait cycle. This allows users to negotiate uneven ground, ramps, slopes and stairs with greater confidence while maintaining stability during everyday activities.
